Look Before you Leap

My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, James 1:19

I read an awesome illustration this morning. A National Geographic photographer in a hurry to get pictures of a great forest fire was taken to the airport to ride into the fire with a pilot who had years of experience flying in such conditions. He ran from the car, jumped into the plane and yelled, “Let’s go! Let’s go!” After taking off and flying away from the airport, the photographer shouted again, Fly over the south side of the fire and make 3-4 low level passes. “Why?” asked the pilot. “Because I’m going to take pictures!” After a long pause the pilot said, “You mean you’re not an instructor?” It’s a good idea to take your time and consider the situation before you jump in and start yelling.
