OUR GOD IS GREATER THAN OUR CIRCUMSTANCES
Today’s One Year Bible reading in Psalm 63 finds David in the desert—a dry, waterless land—on the run from his enemies. But despite his difficult situation, his trust in God remains strong. The one and only true God is his God, with whom he earnestly seeks a closer relationship. David has experienced God’s power and glory in the past, and he has absolute confidence that God is able to care for him now. In fact, David focuses far more on his relationship with God than on his physical circumstances. And David is confident of ultimate victory, for he recognizes that his God is greater than his enemies.
David’s attitude is a good example for us to follow. Are we more concerned with our relationship with God than with our circumstances? Does our experience with God in the past give us confidence in His care for the future? Can we praise Him even in hard times? And are we confident of ultimate victory in Him?
I trust our answer to each of these questions is a resounding “Yes!”
