TO GOD BE THE GLORY
God gives us, His children, every opportunity to turn towards Him with thoughtful, heart-felt devotion. We, however, often decide to pursue our own ways in some misguided sense of freedom, thinking we can determine truth for ourselves. Our ways are not His (Isaiah 55:8-9). We can claim to know this, but do we make every effort to devote ourselves to God when He only wants the best for us? (Jeremiah 29:11)
Devotion to God has to be intentional, a moment by moment reliance on the power of His Spirit to do what He commands of us.
Do we love in the Spirit or do we rely on our limited capability to love on our own, sprinkled with a mixture of human pride and misused scripture? Hating or grumbling about the things that God has allowed (and that we only have limited knowledge of) is stepping into darkness, not light. (Psalm 1; Philippians 2:14-16; James 5:9; 1 Corinthians 10:10-13)
Love God and trust in what He is doing, especially when it is not readily understood. (Psalm 76:10; Romans 8:28; Proverbs 3:5-6; 24:21-22; Leviticus 19:18; Deuteronomy 6:4-9; Mark 12:30; Luke 10:27)
Asking for prayer and praying for ourselves and others to recognize and appreciate what the fullness of God in us means must be a priority. Faithfully practicing what the knowledge of His will tells us is the only way to live for (and in) His glory.
I pray that we all increase in the knowledge of Him daily and increasingly bear the fruit that testifies of His greatness. (Joshua 1:8; Psalm 1:2-3, 25:5; Colossians 1:10)
To God be the glory!
