GOD'S SOVEREIGNTY AND LOVE FOR ALL PEOPLES

Our God has given each of us choices in this life.  The most important choices are to choose Him, the One and only True God or Satan the deceiver and father of lies. Unfortunately, our choices divide us. Those of us that believe in Jesus as Lord may sometimes disagree.  This can be good because He did not make us all the same. We are not all mature Christians.  We are all being sanctified forever being tested and chiseled to be more like Christ.  Do you believe the following?

  • Jesus, is the Son of God, and
  • He was sent by God to die for the sins of all peoples because we could not save ourselves.  Jesus died, was buried, and rose from the dead (He is alive).
  • Once He ascended into heaven, the Holy Spirit was given to those who believe to dwell within us.
  • He is our comforter, advocate, intercessor, guide, and reminds us of the teaching of Jesus—The third person of the Godhead (Triune God),

If so, we should be able to disagree/agree in love when the unity of the Christ’s church is at stake.

In Ephesian 3:16-19, Paul prayed. 16 I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being. 17 So that Christ may dwell through His Spirit in your heart through faith.  And I pray that you being rooted and established in love,18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge – that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Therefore, if we love our brothers and sisters in Christ like the Lord loves us, there should be not room in our hearts for hate, unforgiveness, or malice toward them. Even when family, children, or friends disappoint us with their choices, actions, or words, we should not allow their actions to cause us to sin.  We are still required to love them and pray for them so that our Lord can change them. God is the one who can change the people in our lives.  We are only human saved by Grace, but God is the True and Real one who draw people unto Himself and who disciplines those He loves.  We must remember that you family’s or child’s path walking with God may be different from your own.  We must let our family, children, and others make their own decision.  It is good to share the Gospel, teach, correct with gentleness, and pray for them using the Bible as a reference and the Holy Spirit as your guide.  Our prayers should go before each of these things to God who hears us and knows our hearts.

Ephesians 4: 32 "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”
 
Psalms 145: 17 God is righteous in all His ways and faithful in all that He does.

We live in a country where government decisions are made by the people. However, God is in control of it all.

Daniel 2:21: "It is He who changes the times and the epochs; He removes kings and establishes kings; He gives wisdom to wise men and knowledge to men of understanding.  

Can we say that we have agreed with all that any politician? Probably not.  When I vote, I also pray that the Lord knows my heart and for His will to be done.  This year I only watched the first debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump.  I refused to let the ads and talk give me anxiety.  I prayed and asked the Lord to let His will be done and remember that He said He would never leave or forsake those who belong to Him. I can live without fear of the future knowing that God is Sovereign. God is good in His ways.  

Deuteronomy 32:4 "He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is He".

Romans 13: 1 "Everyone must submit Himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God."

If we believe the word of God, will you submit to the governing authorities, no matter who is in office for they were established by God?  Presidential Elections are times when many forget who is in control - God.  We gravitate to one side or the other or go a different way all together.  In this divisive time many churches have split, many members have left the church, and many have lost faith in God. However, God is good in His ways. He removes kings and establishes kings; He gives wisdom to wise men and knowledge to men of understanding.   No other person in this world can save us or send us to hell.  

We forget the second most important commandment.  "Jesus said, "A new commandment I give you; Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." John 13:34-35. The first being, "Love the Lord with all your heart, and all your soul and all your mind." Matthew 22:37-28

If we follow these two commandments, this will please our God.

I encourage everyone who votes on the city, state and national levels to trust God and don’t grow weary in doing good.  As we know, we are Citizen of Heaven.
 
Galatians 6:9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. NIV
