A STATE OF CONSTANT READINESS
In reading Luke 12 this morning, I’m reminded to check my allegiance and renew my commitment to building the Kingdom that is promised to Jesus’ “little flock”. This teaching of Jesus comes near the end of His public ministry and in the presence of a massive crowd. Before He heads to the cross, He wants to galvanize His disciples with the certainty of His lordship and promise to provide for all their needs – temporary and eternal. Jesus’ disciples can trust His plan and provision, they need only remain in Him.
This is a lesson surely relatable to our time. As the world worries, hoards, and braces for the worst, can we remain generous and intentional to carry out the mission of making disciples for Jesus, our King, confident that His provision is sufficient for us?
