THE PHARISEE AND THE TAX COLLECTOR - WHICH ONE AM I?
Sometimes in life we just feel like we need to get a little credit for something; say, something we do. It’s often too easy to do and say things before others so they can see that you’re living right, being generous or whatever it might be. Sure, it’s great to live your life in a way that pleases the Lord or to help others.
However, we need to remember why we are doing these things. It’s not to impress others. Numerous other places in scripture it tells us to do things not before others, but in secret. Lord, help me to live to please you and not to please others.
