FOLLOWING PAUL'S EXAMPLE IN I TIMOTHY 3:14-16
Paul is exemplary here not so much in his perfection––which he makes clear in the preceding chapters is, like all men save the Lord Jesus, utterly non-existent—but rather in his care and concern for the church. May we have a heart like this: namely one that burns to see God's people knowing and proclaiming the truth, resisting the pull of false doctrine on their souls, behaving in His house—in the very church of the living God—in a way that is befitting for followers of Jesus, endeavoring with their all to maintain the spiritual walls of the church that she would remain a pillar and buttress of the truth, and above all else professing the gospel boldly to the world around them.
