GOD'S WORD IS A TREASURE

Today’s reading includes a portion of Paul’s second letter to Timothy. (2 Tim.2:22-3:17) In these verses, Paul charged Timothy to remain faithful to the things he has been taught. (3:14) Why? Because he had been taught the holy Scriptures which gives everyone wisdom to receive the salvation that comes from trusting in Christ. (3:15) Paul continues saying that “all Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness. (3:16) Paul’s words to Timothy are a reminder for us that God’s word is a treasure. While it is easy for us to take our easy access to God’s Word for granted, there are still 1.5 BILLION people without access to a full Bible in their language. So let us never take this privilege of owning our own copy of God’s inspired Word lightly and let us continue to study it daily to guide us to spiritual maturity.
