JESUS DOES THE FATHER'S WILL DEMONSTRATING LOVE FOR HIS MOTHER AND WAS GIVEN A KING'S BURIAL

John 19:23-42:  The Word of the God/Lord is true, as demonstrated by what happened after the Lord was crucified. Scripture was fulfilled “They divided my clothes among them and cast lots for my garment."

I stand amazed that Jesus was still at work doing the will of the Father by taking care of His mother, Mary.  He said to her, “Woman, here is your son,” and to John whom He loved, “Here is your mother.” Taking His eyes off Himself and toward those whom He loved. He gave John His mother to care for, and Jesus the King honored Mary, by making provisions for her until her death. Then, His work was finished.

Once everything was finished, Jesus said, “I am thirsty."   He was given wine vinegar soaked into a sponge on the stalk of a hyssop plant and placed upon his lips."

“Hyssop Plant: hyssop, (Hyssopus officinalis), evergreen garden herb of the  mint family (Lamiaceae), grown for its aromatic leaves and flowers. The plant has a sweet scent and a warm bitter taste and has long been used as a flavouring for foods and beverages and as a folk medicine.”

I can imagine Jesus being covered with the aromatic, sweet scent of the leaves and flowers, while experiencing the bitter sting of death to save the world from its sin. Not only did He live a perfect life even unto the cross, but He was provided for with perfection on the cross and in burial. He was placed in the tomb of a rich man (a believer), wrapped in linen with spices (according to the Jewish customs). Jesus was placed in a garden, in a NEW tomb.
