GENEALOGIES - REAL PEOPLE
Reading genealogies in the Bible can be somewhat difficult to get through. However, they are very important in showing the historical accuracy of the Bible. When we read OT stories of people from ancient times, we are reading about real people who had real families and relationships!
The Bible’s genealogies also show the fulfillment of prophesies. For example, Jesus would be a Jew from the tribe of Judah.
They also determined who could perform certain jobs (or roles). Only Levites worked in the temple and tabernacle, and descendants of Aaron served as high priest.
