MAKE HIS DEEDS KNOWN

Psa. 105:1 Oh give thanks to the LORD, call upon His name;  Make known His deeds among the peoples.

What a great way to start off a Psalm of praise and a great way to start off your prayer for the day. With these troubling times we live in, the Psalmist reminds us what our response to life should be. In the midst of a pandemic, fear, and the uncertainties of life, God gives us a blueprint for life - Give thanks, make His deeds known to everyone! What keeps your life focused on God, who He is, and what He has done? It is amazing to me how much “Living to make Him Known” shows up in my Bible. How about yours?

May I just say the Lord wants us to enjoy every day…the easy days and the hard days we all have. As we proclaim Him and share the good news of His great love, it causes us to sing, speak of His wonders, and enjoy a glad heart. This Psalm points us like a laser to where our strength comes from and where our eyes are to remain fixed. I believe the Scriptures point us daily to God’s plan for us to rise up every day knowing He cares for us, will guide us, and keep us in the palm of His hand.

We have been going through the book of Genesis in Awana as we began our new year. As the story of Genesis unfolds after the Creation, the Fall, the Flood, and the birth of the Nations, God begins to work through individuals. Abraham, Isaac and Jacob have been our Bible stories these past three weeks just like verses of Psalm 105:9-10 lay out for us. God’s plan and God’s covenant with His people emerges. It says that they were few in number and strangers in a foreign land, and God protected them and gave a strong warning to any who would seek to hurt God’s people. “Do not touch My anointed ones” vs. 15. Pretty strong words from the God of creation.

We serve the God who keeps His word and has a plan that we get to be a part of each and every day. Today is a great day to bow your head, give thanks, and spend some time praising Him for His wonderful Word to us and His everlasting love and covenant. Let everyday be your day to rise up and proclaim God’s plan to everyone. God always chooses to use individuals to carry out His plan. Let you be one! Make His deeds and His name known!
