WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO HAVE FAITH IN GOD?
Mark 11:22 "Jesus answered and said have faith in GOD." The Bible teaches in Hebrews 11:6 " But without faith it is impossible to please Him. For he that comes to GOD must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him." To believe GOD, one must accept the Bible as the inspired word of GOD. The Bible is the complete and full revelation of who GOD is. To reject the Bible is to reject GOD. The Bible reveals GOD'S will for man. In John 1:1-3 the Bible says "In the beginning was the word and the word was with GOD, and the word was GOD. All things were made by Him and without was not anything made that was made. In Him was life and the life was the light of men." To believe in GOD is to believe the Holy Scriptures and to accept it's message as being true and totally trust worthy. Then one must act on it's message.
The Bible teaches in 2nd Pether 1:20-21 "Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the Scripture is of any private interpretation, for the prophecy came in old time by the will of man, but Holy men of GOD spoke as they were moved by the Holy Ghost."
In 2nd Timothy 3:16-17 says "all Scripture is given by inspiration of GOD and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of GOD maybe perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works."
The Bible teaches that man is a fallen creature because of Adam and Eve's sin. They were the federal representatives of the human family. When they failed we failed, because we were in their loins. Because Adam was guilty of sin, we fell under the curse of sin, which is death.
The Bible teaches that GOD provided a way that we could be forgiven. God provided a way that our sins could be removed. He sent His son Jesus Christ to die for our sins. Jesus came and paid our sin debt. He died as our substitute. God offers to us the gift of eternal life to all who will receive His free gift. Have you made that decision? Are you forgiven? You must believe the gospel message to be saved from the wrath of GOD. "Have faith in GOD." Mark 11:22.
John 3:36 says "He that believes on the Son of GOD has everlasting life. He that does not believe the Son shall not see life but the wrath of GOD abides on him." Believe GOD'S word. Accept the Bible as the inspired word of GOD. Have faith in GOD. Believe on the Son of GOD and be forgiven. Put your faith in GOD'S word and His promises. This is what it means to "Have faith in GOD." Put your faith in Jesus Christ and believe all that GOD has revealed in the Holy Scriptures. "Have faith in GOD."
