THE MISERY OF SIN

Psalm 32:10-11 "Many sorrows shall be to the wicked, but he that trusts in the LORD, mercy shall compass him about." There are many thoughts that comprise how we define sorrow. It speaks of sadness, failure, regrets, emotional pain, guilt, heartache, all sorts of setbacks. This is a picture of a life of sin. Yet it is true that there is pleasure in sin, but it is only for a season. The ultimate results of sin is a life of sorrow and pain.

In Proverbs 13:15 the scripture says "the ways of a transgressor is hard." It is hard because sin leads a person on a downward path if they allow sin to dominate their life. Sin is like a cancer. It continues to grow and dominate a person's life. The only way to be freed from sin's dominion is to believe on the LORD JESUS CHRIST as personal Savior, believe He died to pay your sin debt and rose again from the dead for your justification and experience being born again of GOD'S HOLY SPIRIT. In Galatians 6:7 the scripture says "Be not deceived, GOD is not mocked. For whatsoever a man sows that also shall he reap." The law of sowing and reaping is sure. The chickens always come home to roost. Galatians 6:8 says "For he that sows to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption. but he that sows to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap everlasting life."

Psalm 34:21 states " Evil shall slay the wicked." What a true statement. Psalm 32 B states " but he that trusts in the Lord, mercy shall compass him about." What a contrast. Many sorrows for the wicked but mercy for the one who trusts in the Lord.

Psalm 32:11 says " Be glad in the Lord, rejoice you righteous. Shout for joy all of you who are upright in heart." What a contrast between the sorrows of the wicked and the joy of the righteous.
