LORD, THANK YOU FOR CORRECTION!

"The rod and reproof give wisdom, but a child left to himself brings shame to his mother."
Proverbs 29:15

I have zero love for correction and/or all of his friends like being judged, observed, disciplined, and criticized. Feel free to add anymore synonyms to that list! The reason I hate correction is because it hurts. It’s embarrassing. It feels like I have failed. It feels like I am not good enough. And although, I may not like it, oh how I need it. I need it because correction not only brings pain…it brings wisdom, understanding, growth, and honor.

Although this proverb speaks of a child, we ALL need correction in our life. I know that because we all need wisdom. I need someone to tell me, “Marc, you talk too much” or “you complain too much” or maybe just, “Marc, YOU ARE WRONG.” The person who has no correction, no input, no reproof, no one who challenges him/her, and no one who they are truly accountable to will ultimately attract shame.

LORD, thank you for correction and thank you for all those you have used to minister it to me!
