DON'T HAVE TIME TO READ A BOOK? LISTEN TO AN AUDIOBOOK AND MULTI-TASK!

Anyone who knows me well, knows that I listen to a lot of audiobooks. In fact, I have listened to over one hundred fifty books per year for the past three years. I do this while driving, riding my bike, doing the dishes, or through a myriad of other household tasks. You can pay for services like Audible or Christian Audio, however there are some free options: Hoopla and Overdrive. Both of these free options have websites and smartphone apps, all you need is a library card with a participating library. Dallas, Desoto, and Cedar Hill libraries are partners with these free options. Furthermore, I have discovered Hoopla has a lot of Christian titles, while Overdrive a few. Interestingly, even though you have the same library card, the majority of the books offered by Overdrive and Hoopla are different.
Obviously, there are many benefits to listening to books; you have heard it all before. On my end, I can confidently tell you that I have learned more and been exposed to more in the past three years than I have during any other period in my life. This includes the period I went to seminary. I never in a million years would have read: Paradise Lost, Pilgrims Progress, Moby Dick, or The Adventures of Robin Hood; however, I have listen to these classics and more while I was doing something else…it didn’t take me any extra time. You don’t have anything to lose.
