O LORD, OUR LORD
Psalm 8
"O Lord our Lord, how excellent is your name in all the earth. Who has set your glory above the heavens."
Who can understand and know the greatness and glory of GOD? GOD is wonderful in majesty and glory. He created the universe out of nothing. By the spoken word of GOD He brought into existence the universe. Who can understand the greatness of His power? No one can. It is beyond the the human mind to conceive of such power. His glory has been set above the heavens. Psalms 19 states "The heavens declare the glory of GOD; and the firmament shows His handiwork. Day unto day utters speech and night unto night shows knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard." All of creation declares the glory of GOD.
Psalms 8:3-5 states " when I consider the heavens, The work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained; what is man that You are mindful of him? and the son of man, that You visit him? For You have made him a little lower than the angels, and You have crowned him with glory and honor." " You have given man dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet."
Little wonder that we worship our Lord and give Him honor and glory. He is our creator. He made us. He gave us dominion over the works of His hand. We join the psalmist and we say O Lord our Lord, how excellent is Your name in all the earth. You have set Your glory above all the earth. Have you made Him your Lord? Does He rule your heart? Do you lift your voice in praise and worship? All of creation is declaring "O Lord our Lord how excellent is Your name in all the earth."
Psalms 148:13 states " Let them praise the name of the Lord. for his name alone is excellent; his glory is above the earth and heaven.
