Proverbs 27:12 - “The prudent sees danger and hides himself, but the simple go on and suffer for it.”

The prudent man sees danger coming and responds appropriately. He sees it en route. He forsees it.  He sees it before he experiences it, and he responds based on what he discerns is coming. That is Faith…to see something that is coming and to respond with action based on what you see. What a blessing, as a believer, to have the Spirit of God and the Word of God to lead and guide us…to show us when danger is coming! It is then up to us to respond prudently.
The real question is what causes someone to see danger and continue down a path to destruction. I think we all experience this. We eat the things we eat knowing that it may not be good for us. We watch things we shouldn’t watch knowing it may later impact how we think. We all do it in some shape, form, or fashion. I think maybe it’s because we value the now more than tomorrow. Maybe we get distracted by the pleasure or comfort we feel in the present, and in turn, are willing to take a chance with the dangers of tomorrow. Maybe the simple person doesn’t want to see the danger because it will require action, and they are just not ready to take action yet.

Regardless of the reasoning, take this blog as a wake-up call of God’s grace and mercy. If you are headed down a path that may lead to danger. STOP TODAY!
