KING ASA'S HEART IN 2021

Asa, King of Judah, had a heart that the Bible says was ‘blameless all his days’ and he ‘did good and right in the sight of the Lord his God.’ One can hear King Asa’s heart in the prayer he prayed while facing Zerah the Ethiopian’s formidable army - which was twice the size of his army:   “Lord, there is no one besides You to help in the battle between the powerful and those who have no strength; so help us, O Lord our God, for we trust in You, and in Your name have come against this multitude.  O Lord, You are our God; let not man prevail against You.”

What humility on the part of the king!  What trust he had in the strength and ability of his God to come to his defense!  What deep understanding he possessed in knowing Who was actually sovereign in the affairs of men!  You can face your crises alone.  You can deal with your work place drama in your own wisdom and strength.  Or you, like King Asa, can come to the One Who has all power, Who loves you and Who wants to be your wisdom and strength!

‘The Lord is with you when you are with Him.  And if you seek Him, He will let you find Him’ (1 Ch. 15:2).  Pray this prayer over your circumstance:  “Lord, there is no one besides You to help in my life and this circumstance.  I have no strength or ability to face this crisis but You can easily deal with whatever I face.  I trust You and in Your name I will walk by faith.  Lord, be glorified in this situation, in my life and do not allow the enemy gain the upper hand.”
