HOW'S YOUR CREDIT SCORE?

We are confronted so often these days regarding our credit scores. Television commercials try to tell us how we can increase our credit score. Online businesses try to exact fees from us to increase our credit scores. Loan companies routinely check our credit scores. Our credit score is important!

In Romans 4, part of today’s reading we read - multiple times - that God credits to us His righteousness. And how is that righteousness credited to us? Is it by the payment of fees? No! Is it by following a set of rules? No! Romans 2, 3 and 4 reveal to us that it is by faith…a simple faith in God. Romans 3:24 reads “being justified as a gift by his grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus…“ God justifies us freely because of our faith in His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, Who sacrificed Himself for us.

While your credit score is important here in this life, that credit score is not nearly as significant as the credit score you have before the Father! Today’s reading began with a look at God’s ultimate judgment and emphasized how none will escape that judgment. “You are storing up wrath for yourselves in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, who will render to each person according to his deeds…“ (Romans 2:5-6) The only escape from this fearful “balloon payment” is that you have been credited with righteousness as a result of simple faith in the Lord Jesus. ‘My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus blood and righteousness…’.!!

Have a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving!!
