...EXCEPT I SHALL SEE...

Many of us are very familiar with the account recorded by John in his version of our Lord’s Gospel. An account where we see that NOT ONE of our Lord’s disciples were found waiting or watching for Him.

An account where two of our Lord’s disciples came to inquire about Him and without finding Him or an answer; returned to their lives. Lastly, we are all too familiar with the account where the disciple; a man who had walked, talked and basically did life with our Lord stated he would have to see it to believe it!
...Except I shall see... Thomas said, “Except I shall see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into His side, I will not believe.” (John 20:25 KJV)

What kind of faith is this?

Did he not know what the prophets said? Had he not lived with our Christ? Why did he need more?

Sadly, when it comes to our Lord and our King; many souls have followed the EXACT same steps in this story.

...So send I you... In this chapter, John shows us the actions of individuals who had once dropped their lives to follow our Christ. The world once claimed that there were over two billion confessing Christians on this earth. Of that two billion; I’ll take a guess that ninety five percent are like the Christ followers in John’s account.

A large percent will be caught not waiting, watching or longing for His return. A larger percent once knew Him, chased and ran looking for Him; and have now given up and gone back to their lives.

And the largest percent, walk this life by SIGHT not by FAITH!

Believer, do not be like any of the above!

Instead, go as our Lord sent us and warn all who are willing to listen. The kingdom of God is at hand and “except I shall see, I won’t believe” is not going to work!

Warn all you are willing to listen that they want to BELIEVE it before they can SEE it!
