REMINDERS OF PEACE

Job 16:19-21 & 19:25-26
As I read and reflected upon my four passages of scripture, I was reminded of Job’s trials and difficulties in understanding why it was happening to him and how he never broke faith with God.

It was 4 years ago this month that my wife, Karen, was diagnosed with cancer.  Like Job, she never broke faith even though she was in a great deal of physical pain at the end of her earthly life. We would have celebrated our 42nd year of marriage and Karen’s 66th birthday.

There was peace in the hospital room when Karen’s “witness, advocate, intercessor and redeemer” came and took her to be with our heavenly Father.  I am at peace when I remember these pieces of scripture and also Psalms 22:1 where “A good name is more desirable than great riches …”. Karen was all of this.
