GOD'S PROMISE OF DIVINE PROTECTION

Psalm 121:7-8 "The LORD shall preserve you from all evil. He shall preserve your soul. The LORD shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth and even for evermore."

We are confident this promise in it's strictest sense was a promise to the nation of Israel, GOD'S chosen people. I also believe it is a promise to every true believer. If indeed this is true, how does God do it? There are many ways God protects us. First of all GOD has a Divine plan for every person and there is nothing that can stop it. It was established before we were born. This is called the sovereign will of GOD.

GOD has also given to every person a guardian angel to protect us from danger. Psalm 34:7 says "The angel of the LORD encamps round about them that fear him and delivers them." These are GOD'S messengers to protect us.

It is a reality that evil exists in the world in which we live. We need the help of GOD to help us. We have a great adversary, the devil, who seeks to destroy us. We should always pray and ask GOD for His protection. Prayer is a powerful way that GOD has given to us to reach out for strength, mercy, and protection. It is certainly true that GOD answers prayer. I hope you are taking advantage of this powerful ministry GOD has given to us. SO please ask GOD for protection and help.

It is true that we as believers have GOD'S presence with us. He has promised us that He will never leave us or forsake us. Matthew 28:20 says "I am with you always, even to the end of the age." What a comforting promise that GOD is with us and will not forsake us. He will help us.

Romans 8:27 states "and He that searches the heart knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of GOD." The Holy Spirit who indwells the true believer is praying for us with prayers of intercession. What a blessing.

GOD protects us with the arm forces of the military and our law enforcement officials He has put in place to protect us as a nation and individual citizens. They are GOD'S ministers to protect us and to carry out GOD'S justice for evil doers. The scripture says in Romans 8:31 "If GOD be for us who can be against us?"

It is true that GOD watches over us and protects us in every way all the days of our life. What should be our response? We should offer praise and worship to our great GOD and Savior for His mercy and goodness every day. All praise to GOD. Please read again Psalm 121.

Ancient Israel was only divinely protected when they were blessed. Whenever the Malediction was imposed, that blessing was removed and could only be restored by God. They had no protection when they were maledicted. Today, Israel has no special blessing over any other nation or individual. They are in the same position as the other nations whether it is a time of peace or a time of war. God is not responsible for all human dealings. He can and will do whatever is ultimately the best for all parties.
