TRAIN UP A CHILD

I have been thinking about Psalms 127 recently. It is a poignant chapter in the times we live in today. Look around you and see the world descend into insanity. Yet here in this chapter, God has given us two solutions. Build your house with the Lord, and have Godly children. Friends, if we are to “Live to make Him known”, we need to model homes and lives which honor and glorify Him. We are to have children who serve God and honor their parents. We are to raise our children in such a way that they grow to love the Lord themselves. We are to build lives, which shock the unbeliever. This is such a fitting reminder for my home, as we are deep in the toddler years. Constantly needing to remind ourselves that this is hard work, but good work. We are raising up the next generation of the body of believers, and equipping them to carry on the Great Commission. This is the work of the Lord.

Woe to those, who have turned away from God’s love and teaching. The things they build will not last. Their children will turn to evil things and they will call it “good.”
“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it”
Proverbs 22:6.
