WHAT IS TRUE WISDOM

Proverbs 16:16 states " How better is it to get wisdom than gold and understanding to be chosen than silver." What is wisdom and how do we describe it? Wisdom is the ability to make wise choices. Wisdom is the ability to take knowledge and use it in a very wise and profitable way. The question should be asked where do we get knowledge? We get knowledge in many ways. We learn knowledge by observation, study, and by listening. We learn true knowledge by studying the word of GOD and applying it's message to our life. In Proverbs 9:10 the Holy Scriptures says " The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom and the knowledge of the Holy is understanding." Wisdom comes by understanding the greatness of GOD. The greatness of GOD is revealed to us through creation and through the Holy Scriptures GOD has revealed Himself to us through His word. GOD Almighty is the Creator of the universe. All life springs forth from Him. He made us. He rules the the universe. He is the Governor of the nations. He puts up and He puts down. He is sovereign LORD of all. The word of GOD teaches us where we came from and where we are going.

We will all give an account of ourselves to Him. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:10 " For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ that everyone may receive the things done in his body according to that which he hath done whether it be good or bad." The knowledge of GOD, who He is, what He has done in history, creation, the fall of man, the salvation and redemption offered to fallen man, and that by believing in Christ as the Savior of the world brings forgiveness of sin and the free gift of eternal life helps us to understand the knowledge of GOD. He is a great and awesome GOD. He is worthy to be praised and worshiped. What will we do with this great knowledge? Will we believe this great revelation of Holy Scripture? What is our response? Do we believe it's message? Are we willing to place our eternal destiny on the teaching of Holy Scripture? The consequences are great. Eternal life or eternal damnation. True wisdom chooses to believe on Christ and be spared from eternal destruction.

The Bible says in Mark 8:36-37 " For what shall it profit a man if he should gain the whole world and lose his own soul? Or what can he give in exchange for his own soul?" The answer is nothing. True wisdom chooses life. True wisdom believes the message of the Holy Scriptures. Proverbs 4:7 teaches "wisdom is the principle thing. Therefore get wisdom and with all your getting get understanding." If you are truly wise you will fear GOD and keep His commandments and believe it's message. A person could become very rich, have great fame, have great influence. but leave Christ out of his or her life and die a fool. "Wisdom is the principle thing, therefore get wisdom and with all your getting get understanding." Believe on the LORD JESUS and you will be saved. That is wisdom.
