LIVE A MORE GRACIOUS LIFE

Proverbs 19:17  Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will repay him for his deed.

Ever feel guilty for not giving?  I have. You know you pull up to a stoplight and there is a homeless person there wanting anything you’re willing to give them. Often, I say to myself, “I wonder if this is a scammer or is this a real need."  or I’m in too big of hurry to get to someplace to stop and look for a few dollars to give them. Hard to tell exactly who king Solomon is talking about here but you know so often poor means poor and in need, doesn’t it?

I really want to live as a “MORE” generous person, don’t you?  The Bible says, “God loves a cheerful giver.” That verse should really be on our minds more. I love the story of the Good Samaritan. Busy man headed someplace, and he sees a need along the road. He not only stops to help but provides for his need and even checks on him on the way back. Kind of want to be the kind of person, don’t you?

Luke 6:38 says...  "give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure, you use it will be measured back to you.”

I like Proverbs 19:17 in the NASB version.  "One who is gracious to a poor man lends to the LORD, And He will repay him for his good deed."

Let’s live more gracious lives, considering the needs of others and helping to meet those needs God brings across our path. Giving has another amazing truth with. When we do give to the poor, it’s like lending something to the Lord. And just when you thought He was too big to notice a need you see and choose to meet it. I’ll leave you with this. God will repay you for the good deeds you do so put on a cheerful heart and bless others and God will bless you.
